Healthcare

The Northern Rangelands Trust is able to facilitate visits by health specialists to remote areas of northern Kenya where access to specialised medical attention is rare.

In January and February 2006, Seattle-based dentist Ray Damazo and his wife Gail, a dental technician, visited several Community Conservancies, where the Conservancy Managers facilitated travel for their community members to receive dental treatment.

In May 2006, the NGO Medical & Educational Aid to Kenya (M.E.A.K. ) and the Kwale Eye Clinic set up a temporary clinic at Serolevi for one week. The Northern Rangelands Trust with the assistance of the Conservancy Managers, coordinated the logistics of collecting members from the surrounding Community Conservancies who were in need of eye treatment and operations. Food for the patients was kindly donated and cooked by Delia Craig and Wilderness Trails.
